Some of us may think that we live in a very branded world today, but not so according to Debbie Mollenhagen. Her winning entry for the ‘NanoWord 2020 Imagination Contest, a contest to encourage students to picture the social impact of nanotechnology in the not so distant future of 2020, suggests that one day plants could be genetically modified to grow their own packaging. It’s not ridiculous. Just use your imagination and think of all the possibilities! Besides, there’s humour in the project but perhaps not everyone appreciates this?

Of course we will not be growing orangina bottles, but we will be growing packaging. Not ridiculous at all! Great possibilities. If you consider this orangina project in light of next nature (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Next_nature)it makes a lot of sense.
